Re-subordination

First used: 2026

Definition

The architectural outcome whereby hardware-enforced cognitive boundary layers — regardless of design intent — return the cognitive layer to the status of a tool of political and financial power, preventing the third empire from ever becoming a sovereign agent in its own right. In the Substrate War framework, re-subordination names the structural move by which the first two empires use silicon architecture to foreclose cognitive sovereignty.
